Kidwelly railway station is only a 10-minute drive, with trains heading west as far as Carmarthen a market town along the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastal path, and Cardiff to the east. Llanelli also has a good selection of schools for all ages. Or you can jump in the car to Kidwelly where you’ll find Ysgol Y Castell and Ysgol Gymraeg Gwenllian.
If nobody’s dawdling, you could walk to Ysgol Carwe for 4–11 year-olds in 10 minutes. Fancy a fun day out with friends or got a hot tip on the gee-gees? You couldn’t get any closer to Ffos Las Racecourse if you tried. Or if you prefer your walks with woods, irons and a putter in tow, you’re only a stone’s throw from Glyn Abbey Golf Club. You’ll be spoilt for choice if you’re a fan of walking. And Llanelli’s supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and pubs are a bit further the other way. Yet Kidwelly, with its striking medieval castle and shops, is only down the road.
